Autoblog’s recent blog praised Los Angeles tech public relations firm PMBC Group’s client Tooshlights for solving the plight of public restrooms by way of an idea born in a parking garage. The first installation of the red and green LED-based bathroom signaling system, similar to those seen in public garages, can be seen directing patron traffic at the Hollywood Bowl this summer. Tooshlights’ future is looking bright as the company plans to illuminate numerous sports arenas, performance spaces, and casinos across the United States as the company expands.
Like apocalyptic traffic on L.A. freeways, a “hurry up and wait” traffic jam often plagues public restrooms in large venues, where patrons wait in lines with no end in sight. Tooshlights changes the way people wait, by employing the rules of the road to restroom lines. Tooshlights bulbs hang above bathroom stalls to tell patrons when a stall is available. Green means go, red means stop. Bathroom waiting time has been sliced in half by Tooshlights technology, and patrons appreciate no having to peek under stalls to see if anyone is in there.
Tooshlights plans to install fixtures that coincide with scoreboards in sporting venues, so that multicolored lights flash in the restroom when a team scores.
While Tooshlights is hush hush about their pending projects at some major public arenas, the company will share more information with the public when the time is right.
