(Los Angeles, CA) – Coupa Café Beverly Hills catered the screening of the Venezuelan film Rock Paper Scissors for the International Oscar entry on December 9, 2012 bringing Venezuelan cuisine to Hollywood’s finest in the entertainment industry. The eighty-person event at the Charles Aidikoff Screening Room on 150 South Rodeo Drive was fully staffed with an open bar and Venezuelan specialties.
Chef and owner Camelia Coupal said, “We were delighted to cater the Rock Paper Scissors screening, with the team having visited our original location in Caracas, Venezuela. It was truly an honor to demonstrate what the movie was evoking: modern-day life in Caracas, but of a epicurean nature.”
The food highlighted the event with the traditional national dish of Venezuela, Pabellon, stealing the show. The Pabellon featured either shredded beef or chicken, black beans, sweet fried plantains, queso paisa, rice, arepitas, and nata. For appetizers, mini cachapas, the traditional Venezuelan corn griddle pancakes topped with fresh queso de mano, were served. Coupa offered Chilean and Argentinian wines to drink in addition to their magnificent, award-winning Venezuelan coffee. To finish it all off Tres Leches, soaked in three milks and topped with meringue, along with 100% Venezuelan Chocolate Mousse left the evening to a sweet ending for all in attendance.
