There are always those defining moments in cinematography which can make, or break a movie. In the 80’s, many of our long-time favorite classics were created.
From films about coming of age, to ex-professors fighting ghosts, it’s safe to say 1984 was a great time for cheesy movies in America.
The beginning of 2014 means the 30th birthday of some of our favorite films is upon us.Here at PMBC Group, we are counting down our top 5 favorite films from 1984:
1. Ghost Busters
This was the top grossing film in 1984, making over $238 million at the box office.
2. Karate Kid
A mix of martial arts and romance in one movie became a cherished classic.
3. 16 Candles
This coming-of-age tale tells the struggle of a teenager whose parents forget her 16th birthday.
4. Footloose
Elmore City, Oklahoma is the epicenter of this musical, where dancing and rock music have been banned by the town’s minister.
5. Gremlins
This horror/comedy tells the story of a pet which spawns small evil creatures which resemble Furbies.
