There’s nothing like a little comfort on a Monday to start the week off on the right foot. Since traveling to a foreign country isn’t as manageable as we’d like, PMBC Group, thought they’d put together a list of local favorites from around the world that can give you a taste of that travel and leisure in your own home.
- Mussels of Brussels. There is nothing like enjoying a plate of perfectly steamed mussels, bought fresh from an outdoor fish stall or a local market.
- Meat of Buenos Aires. Famous for their cuts of meat, put together samples of your favorite rib eye, sweetbreads, and chorizo, all washed down with an earthy Malbec.
- Lamb from Cape Town. Free-range lamb is all the rage in South Africa. Contact a local or regional farm for fresh lamb that will grill perfectly over some hot coals.
- Seafood of Vietnam. Known for their seafood marinated with spices such as galangal, shrimp paste, and turmeric, whip up your own vermicelli noodles and serve this with fish sauce and a heap of dill.
- Tacos of Mexico. It may not be Taco Tuesday, but finding the more exotic tacos such as eggs with chaya leaf and twice-fried pork belly varieties make all the difference in flavor.
- Treats from Mumbai. A late night snack can always be quenched by Mumbai’s pao bhaji, a mouth watering vegetable and potato stir-fry, eaten with a scrumptious roll.
- Pasta of Rome. Handmade noodles are the true Italian’s way to go. Take a stab at making your own and throw on some garnishes like pecorino and sheep’s milk ricotta and you have yourself a delicious meal.
What’s your local favorite?
