Los Angeles based tech and apps public relations firm PMBC Group’s client Moonlighting was recently featured on NBC 29 regarding this morning’s roundtable discussion on how those taking part in the on-demand economy should be classified and treated.
U.S. Sen. Mark Warner participated in the roundtable along with participants in the shared economy to discuss the social insurance and compensation they feel they should receive for the amount of work and hours that are being put into these individual’s alternative employment. The roundtable was hosted by the two-way, on-demand hiring mobile application company, Moonlighting at its headquarters in Charlottesville, VA. The discussion brought in companies and social media outlets such as Airbnb, Lyft, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn that contribute to this on-demand economy as well as today’s most popular form of communication. While some might not believe these major players to be the best form of seeking employment, Moonlighting CEO and founder Jeff Tennery argues that sources like these are assisting people in finding and creating employment to help boost today’s economy.
