Lottery players used to glue themselves to the local evening news to find out the winning lotto-numbers. But now there is an app for just that. Lottolotto, a free app for iOS and Android devices, allows users to check every daily and weekly lottery drawings in the U.S., from multi-state to daily drawings, simply by uploading a picture of their tickets.
Lottolotto, a client of Los Angeles tech public relations firm PMBC Group, is bringing the lottery system into the modern digital age, according to Ola Danilina, CEO and founder of public relations firm, PMBC Group.
”Lottolotto’s CEO Brett Jacobson has assembled a team of top gaming, lottery and tech industry experts and is poised to revolutionize the industry,” says Danilina.
Lotto-players forget to check their results and millions of lottery tickets which represent billions of dollars go unclaimed. The app “makes playing the lotto convenient and fun,” claims Jacobson of Lottolotto.
Using cutting-edge Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to read information on lottery tickets, players simply take a picture of their lottery tickets and let the app do the rest. Lottolotto identifies the lottery game, drawing date and ticket numbers and provides instant results for past drawings and notifications for results of future drawings. The app also allows lottery players that participate in a lottery pool to share the winning results with other users.
The app also benefits lottery retailers as it notifies users when jackpots hit a certain level. Each user can personalize the settings, as well as shows users the closest lottery retailers to redeem your ticket based on geotracking.
One last fun fact about the lottery, according to a recent survey taken on July 22, 2014 which surveyed 34 national lottery winners, only 55% of winners were happier after winning!
