Although there have been multiple winners in August, the Mega Millions winners of June 27 and August 22 still have not come forward. Thousands of people across the country eagerly tune into the Mega Millions drawing to see if they have the winning ticket, yet winning tickets go unclaimed.
Each year millions of winning tickets, representing billions of dollars goes unclaimed because people forget to check their tickets, but now there is an app for that. Travelers Today highlights the new user friendly app, Lottolotto, for helping lottery players keep track of their winnings.
Lottolotto, a client of Los Angeles tech public relations firm PMBC Group, is a new free lottery app that allows users to keep track of their tickets and winnings simply by uploading a picture of their ticket taken on their smartphone or tablet.
The app uses advanced Optical Character Recognition technology to read information on lottery tickets. Players simply take a picture of their lottery tickets and let the app do the rest. Lottolotto identifies the lottery game, drawing date and ticket numbers and provides instant results for past drawings and notifications for results of future drawings.
Lottolotto is the only app that recognizes all the lotteries—daily, retail, and national, and is the only app that doesn’t require users to manually input data.
The app also allows users to create lottery pools with other players and share ticket information and shows players convenient locations for purchasing tickets and collecting winnings based on the user’s location.
Available for Apple and Android, the free app requires just four easy steps. Step 1: buy a ticket, step 2: download Lottolotto, step 3: take a picture of the ticket, step 4: sit back and wait to be notified if the ticket is a winner!
