In Los Angeles new hot spots are a major and well-known staple to the city. The One Up, a new restaurant, bar and arcade in Sherman Oaks, is the newest attraction bringing the 80’s arcade scene to Ventura Boulevard.
The One Up, a client of Los Angeles public relations firm PMBC Group, features 15 arcades offering over 400 80’s style arcade games that patrons can play for free, a small tapas menu of traditional recipes with a unique twist and craft cocktails.
The One Up takes 80’s décor and makes it modern. One of the walls is decorated with old-school boom boxes and eight-track tapes painted a turquoise-green. There is also a dedicated arcade room which features 15 classic stand-up arcade systems offering over 400 classic games, from PacMan to Galaga to Donkey Kong.
As a perfect complement to arcade games, The One Up offers a variety of delicious bar food like sweet corn hushpuppies, fried chicken banh mi, or mini corn dogs to help with the late-night munchies.
The One Up offers a great selection of beers and craft cocktails like the Sadie Hawkins, sporting vodka, and blueberries and lavender. And in case you are wondering how much money you can spend at the bar while still being able to indulge in a classic game or two, don’t worry, all the video games are free of charge. So don’t bother looking in your couch or car for loose change, come to The One Up with an appetite for great food, games and fun.
