Marijuana legalization is a hot topic across the country, and Vincent Mehdizadeh, founder and senior strategist of Medbox, told Digital Journal’s Ryan Hite how his company is paving the path for safety and industry-wide compliance in the rapidly expanding marijuana marketplace. Mehdizadeh, a client of Los Angeles tech public relations firm PMBC Group, has received national media attention for his thought leadership in the cannabis industry as well as the industry-changing Medbox dispensing machines which are systematically synced to comply with state regulations on storing, dispensing and controlling inventory for medical marijuana.
In the feature piece, Mehdizadeh acknowledges that although he did come to the right trade at the right time, he took a “big gamble during the recession and thought outside the box and planned ahead.”
Mehdizadeh also leaves readers with a piece of advice saying, “Think ahead and do not be afraid to go for what you see as the future.”
Despite the constant challenges that the marijuana industry faces, Mehdizadeh has led Medbox to be the industry giant when it comes to safe medical marijuana dispensing. His success has enabled him to become an active philanthropist, and he has donated over $1 million to a number of organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and marijuana industry advocacy groups including the Drug Policy Alliance, Americans for Safe Access and Marijuana Policy Project.
Mehdizadeh is now in the process of writing his autobiography, detailing his life journey of overcoming personal challenges and tragedies in order to achieve personal success. The book will be out in January 2015, and all proceeds will be donated to select charities that are close to Mehdizadeh’s heart.
