“Shopping apps are about a dime a dozen now…. but I found one that’s actually worth a look,” says Michael Finney of ABC News, speaking about America’s leading retail app, Ibotta. The hot shopping app, which is a client of Los Angeles tech public relations firm PMBC Group, was recently featured on ABC 7’s On Your Side segment, which highlighted its money saving benefits.
Ibotta user Liz Meyerdirk was interviewed at one of San Francisco’s local Whole Foods store as she browsed the aisles for her groceries using Ibotta. She demonstrated how users like her are able to earn cash by simply scanning barcodes and uploading a photo of their receipt to their mobile. A cash rebate is then sent to the user’s PayPal or Venmo account. Meyerdirk explained how using Ibotta’s app makes her feel as if she’s found a $5 bill in her pocket every time she goes shopping.
Ibotta CEO Bryan Leach was also interviewed by ABC 7 and explained how consumers who use the app can go shopping and in return receive actual cash rebates back into their bank accounts. Bryan described how the immediacy and simplicity of the app appeals to consumers as it also provides an option to reap actual cash benefits. Unlike other consumer shopping apps, Ibotta offers real cash, not points.
ABC 7 also discussed the social aspect of the app and how Ibotta actually “backs up” its claims to be a social media tool. With their social sharing feature and teamwork benefits, Ibotta promotes users to form teams so they can earn more money faster, by working together.
Ibotta differentiates itself from the sea of other shopping apps thanks to its powerful lineup of partnered brands and retailers. The company has over 100 partnerships with the likes of Walmart, Target, Nordstrom, Coca Cola Company, AMC Theaters, Best Buy and more at 100,000 plus locations nationwide. With new partnerships being secured at a rapid rate, Ibotta continues to stride ahead as the leader in its field.
